Codex Alimentarius Fibre Definition

The drafting group of the Codex Committee on Nutrition and Foods for Special Dietary Use (CCNFSDU) adopted a definition of dietary fibre in Nov. 2005 that explicitly included polydextrose.

Accordingly, Danisco believes that Litesse® (polydextrose) can be labelled as fibre in the nutritional facts panel, based on the current definitions and the validated AOAC analytical method.

THE ABOVE IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY AND DOES NOT CONSTITUTE LEGAL ADVICE OR COUNSEL. CUSTOMERS ARE ADVISED TO REVIEW THE REGULATORY STATUS OF POLYDEXTROSE WITH THEIR LEGAL COUNSEL, AND ARE ADVISED THAT REGULATIONS ARE CONSTANTLY BEING MODIFIED AND UPDATED.
