Originally developed as a premium bulking agent, Litesse® polydextrose plays an important role in restoring the desirable flavour, texture and mouthfeel that can be lost when reducing or eliminating fat in many foods and beverages. Litesse® contributes only 1 kcal per gram as it is only partially metabolised. As a result, it contributes only 11% of the calories of fat.
